Encouraging innovation in HE mathematics teaching and learning

14th IMA Early Career Mathematicians Conference, University of Leicester (16/07/2011).

Peter works as HE Curriculum Innovation Advisor for the Maths, Stats and OR Network as part of the Mathematical Sciences Strand of the National HE STEM Programme. Apart from being difficult to squeeze onto his CV, this work has the somewhat nebulous brief: "to explore current learning, teaching and assessment practices within mathematical sciences departments, and disseminate good practice". As well as how to narrow down a widely-defined brief, Peter will talk about his work encouraging those teaching mathematical sciences in universities to innovate, share and learn their way to improved practice.
