What could a modern, numerate e-assessment system do for SHU?

Abstract:
There are modern e-assessment systems in use at many universities in the UK and around the world that go beyond 'provided response' questions and can be used to assess technical material in numerate disciplines, including mathematics, computer program code and data analysis. A student-led research project has made a realistic appraisal of the potential for assessment practice improvements and efficiencies such technologies could offer at SHU, based on literature review and a staff survey. This talk will share findings and invite input from the audience.
